Hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving break. Now it’s time for us all to get back to work. We have a very busy week ahead of us. We will be having our writing celebration on Wednesday, November 30th and sharing our personal narratives with one another. I can’t wait to see all the hard work you have done.! We will continue our work in decimals and metric measurement and finish up our unit of study of citizenship, immigration, and map skills. In language arts we will be reading the story Marven of the Great North Woods, concentrating on telling the difference between fact and opinion, reviewing main idea, working with homophones, learning spelling patterns for the consonant blends ng, nk, ph, and wh., and study irregular plural nouns and singular possessive nouns. So get your brains ready and eager to do some learning!
Today 4th grade students from all over Cape Cod were treated to a concert about the life and times of Abraham Lincoln by the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra. As always, students from Mullen Hall were well behaved and polite young men and women. We even got to hear “President Lincoln” deliver his famous Gettysburg Address while the orchestra played a musical interpretation of the speech.
I continue to be amzed at the quality of the musical talent we have here on Cape Cod.
Today in math we played a fun game to test our knowledge of a variety of math terms. Click on the link below to play.
The classroom is all shiny and ready. Wait, I’m missing all of you!
Well it’s that time and summer has come to an end. I don’t know about you but I always look forward to the crispness of fall & the start of a new school year.
I know that I enjoyed every last day of my vacation. How about you?
The last day of school is always bittersweet for me. I am so sad to say goodbye to my kids but am also incredibly excited for them. You have all grown by leaps and bounds this year and I am very proud of each and every one of you. You are all more than ready to move on to middle school. I will miss all of you terribly and look forward to seeing you in the future. Hope you are having a wonderful summer.
Loved your messages to me on the whiteboard!
I found this great site to test not only your state knowledge but also how well you know your capitals. Please click on the link below to practice. You will also find it on our Blog Roll.
I hope that each and every one of you spent some time today making sure your moms know how special and important they are. I spent my day at my first Red Sox game since I was in my very early 20s! My son, Chris, and I watched the Red Sox win against the Twins and I had a wonderful time.
Just a reminder that school will be closed for April vacation and reopen on Monday, April 25th. I hope everyone has a wonderful vacation and comes back re-energized!
Just in case you want to know what I will be doing, I am headed to sunny southern California to Cardif by the Sea to visit with my sister and her family, my mom, and take in some of all that California has to offer!
Since I was home sick today I was playing on the computer and found this wonderful math web site. I tried the tangram game and because I am so spatially challenged it took me forever to put together a simple 4 piece tangram. I challenge you to see how you do!
