You heard it right-no homework all week! Your child is not fibbing. Since we have English Language Arts MCAS testing today and Thursday, there will be no written homework all this week. Please make sure that your child plays, gets plenty of rest, and eats a good breakfast each day. Regular homework will begin again on Monday, April 5th. Until then, happy playing!!!

Last spring I was watching a news program that featured a chorus from PS22 out of Staten Island, New York. This chorus changes each year and features 5th and 6th grade students as well as an incredible choral director, Mr. B. Since that time I have found myself following their progress and sharing their talent with my students. PS22 have been on several national news programs, sung at the White House, Madison Square Garden, with Stevie Nicks, and Tori Amos as well as other well known artists.

I encourage you to check out the link under the Blogroll and take a listen. My personal favorites are Viva la Vida by Coldplay and Landslide by Stevie Nicks.

Personal Narrative Praise Chains

Author: kkruse  //  Category: Uncategorized

Check out our personal narrative writing celebration.  Each student shared their published personal narrative and received a praise link to put into a praise chain.  Their writing was incredible.  My “mini-me” saw what they saw, heard what they heard, felt what they felt, smelled what they smelled, and tasted what they tasted!
